Consumer report: satellite phone service offshore

I rented an Iridium satellite phone through Outfitter Satellite for the purpose of sending my blogs to Soundings by e-mail from offshore during the Bermuda One-Two. As I’ve reported in the past, the “data kit” that I rented to make e-mail possible didn’t work for most of the trip from Newport to the island. To their credit, the folks at Outfitter restored all my phone minutes part way through the ordeal without being asked. (Read More…)
